Understanding Ps. 51:5 Why is Ps. 51:5 so important, so much so that an entire teaching here is dedicated to just this? The answer is simple, in that for much-too-long believers, including myself, have been divided over the doctrine of "original sin
DECEPTION EXPOSED - THE CHURCH FATHERS
AUGUSTINE ON LOVE AND SEX
Published July 1999
St Augustine is widely known in Church History as a great theologian and scholar whose insight and knowledge of the Scriptures remain to this day as dogmas and doctrines of the Roman Catholic as well as the Protestant churches. He was one of the 3 most powerful writers of the Church in the 4th and 5th centuries, besides Ambrose and Jerome. His influence on the Church and in the world cannot be understated. They include such philosophers as Immanuel Kant and Blaise Pascal. His ideas appeared in the teachings of John Calvin, Martin Luther, and other Protestant reformers. This belief forms part of the predestination or election doctrine. His books, Confessions of St Augustine and The City of God are among the world's greatest writings studied by great and small, popes and laity. He conceptualized words like "Trinity" to explain God and his teaching dictates church sacraments. Yet his understanding on love and sex was nothing but pagan, twisted and corrupted.
We are going to look into the Gospel as recorded by Luke and the third chapter.
I suppose most of us can quote John 3:16 without looking at it. How many of us can quote Luke 3:16? It’s the other side of the coin, it should be as well known. Well, here it is… in the good King James version. Luke 3 verse 16: "John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost"
Lo Debar: No pasture, most undesirable, nothing good found there.
Those condeming voices Mephebosheth heard while unjustly living in Lodebar telling him he was worthless and had no purpose in life because he was unjustly dropped as a baby and became lame in both feet, was not his home no his lot. If anyone knew injustices it would be the son of royalty who landed in the most dispicable of all places, Lo Debar.
But, The King was looking for him. Crippled from birth and not his fault, injustice filling his life as many of us have known while not letting these injustices consume us or become our "rear view mirror," did not change who he was. Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan son of King Saul, had royal blood in his veins.
Where he lived did not change who he was. God had not forgotten about him as he was the son of royalty. God was coming for Mephibosheth and his life would never be he same.
What does God say about "divisive" behavior? It is clear, it is not something to soft peddle and God is not an apathetic pathetic about divisive behavior.
Neither should the spiritual believer be apathetic. It has pride and ill-will in the mix, is distructive to those who seek to serve God wholeheartedly, or those who follow these kinds of quality of leaders in the forefront of a revival in the making.
The divisive ones often provide cotton candy gospels to the "itching ear" followers who think them their Savior, think them the truth makers of a fun-loving kind of Truth that has no serious consequences for divisiveness. They look up to these who bear no fruit for a lasting value, and these love to CORRECT a spiritual believer and do this without no authority, and certainly NOT with God's Authority to do so.
These divisive individuals must be exposed. - but one better KNOW who they are IN CHRIST in so doing. Do not think your self qualified in God's Sight for such an exposure of these fruitless deeds, unless you know who you are IN CHRIST, and know whose you are with His backing to do so. "Do not think yourself more highly than you ought (Rom. 12:3)."
Let these divisive ones dig themselvels deeper deeper into a pit they have dug for themselves.
Recently I came across a most fascinating and profound narrative written by a former slave named, Frederick Douglass. From early childhood he was branded into the life of a slave, ignorant and owned, none-the-less called of God for a greater purpose.
But before I highlight some of the specifics of his life from slavery to that a highly-sought out speaker and eventually, after escaping many times for the fugitive life he also lived while attempting to gain his freedom and eventually this with his notoriety as the author of: Narrative of The Life of Frederick Douglass, lets take a look at what a major prophet of God has to say about royalty and this noted in words as "king" or "queen."
When praying for one's healing in the name of Jesus, it is vital we understand what the real need is, and not just the obvious and surface need, know what exactly God would have us pray for them and then the physical healing to follow. It is vital to know what that deeper need is, through God's Eyes and an authentic one with the authentic gift of healing will also be gifted to see through The Eyes of God and not be blinded with the obvious that diverts from the real and deeper need.
WHAT EXACTLY IS THIS Gospel SOME
OF US ARE NOT ASHAMED OF?
And what is this Gospel and salvation?
We are not ashamed to tell a spiritually hungry soul that The Gospel is much more than "religious" kind of talk, but rather, we are not ashamed to tell you about Our God (Not just "a master" or "a teacher" among many as some believe He is), but The One and Only who said: "I have come to give you life andto the full (Jn.10:10)." No other mentor or so-call god ever promised such a profound and encouraging life-changing message. No other so-called God ever offered a message of Amazing Grace found only in Christ.
We hear so much today about the health, wealth, and prosperity gospel, but in all reality, no such gospel actually exists. These things are definately products of - the fruits of, The Gospel of Grace with all of God's glorious promises of blessings.
So lets take a close look from God's point of view which never deletes blessings of prosperity, but which do come with qualifers. God will not prosper those who live in opposition to Him, who's hearts have been hardened against Him and who live in their own "self-righteousness." Oh yes, they may live with wealth and prosperity apart from Him, it happens to the bewilderment of the believer's misunderstanding of what is happening, but only God gives them the ability to enjoy such things.
"Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God." Then we have a contrast to one's enjoyment of God's blessings, the one who God does not allow to enjoy his wealth:
"God gives some people wealth, possessions and honor, so that they lack nothing their hearts desire, but God does not grant them the enjoyment of these things..."
A Church lacking the in the authentic of vision or revelation from God - and the need for the authenic of this gift I cannot emphases enough, is a weak church without debate about such a condition. A church Body building upon a foundation where the carnal mind is leading - and let me tell you it happens more than we'd like to believe or can even imagine, is dinner for the wolves while they're on the prey looking for you, the weak rather than strong church.
I value the Holy Scriptures like a treasure to unfold. They are applicable for real life matters, as well as strengthening the inner man with power. They my Bread of Life, feeding my spirit while transforming me day by day. Anyone who knew my past would hardly recognize me now. The Word of God has made me "wiser than my enemies (Ps. 119:98)" and I expect even more of the same as I continue to embrace the riches of God's Word.
